-X- Manual Steering With AW11 Parts -X-

Parts Needed:

The rack is a perfect fit! no modification there, also the bushings will work fine, only difference is the upper spline is a bit longer.

A Upper & Lower brackets will need to be located or fabricated to fix this problem. You'll need to weld in a 2 1/4 inch section to extend this correctly.

*Custom made since they are hard to find and discontinued.

Power Rack Passenger Side

*See the gap at the bottom, need lower bracket

*Note Power Upper Bracket does not work.

Extending the column is the last part and it needs about a 3 1/4 to 3 3/4inch section of either a AW11 column or another column shaft out of a AE86 Corolla (only to make it look factory so inspectors wont flip-out). To weld in place, this length will provide enough shaft length for a easy install. It's very easy to pull the column and work on out of the car, but it can be done in the engine bay. Keep the cut very straight unless you like filing by hand. make sure to make marks on the tops of the section you cut to keep very thing in its true form. After about an 1/2hour it should look like this. This was welded then grinded smooth to give the OEM look.

Finally the before and after steering angles!
